Kunming will no longer use Dianchi Lake water for drinking. Water of reservoirs and springs will replace this lake water.

Kunming, one of the 14 cities in China with severe water shortage, has used Dianchi Lake water since the 1980s. Over 40% of the water supply are from Dianchi Lake in some years. Dianchi Lake is very serious in pollution.
