Heavy water pollution presents unclean water to
300 million people

( Abstract )

One fourth of the Chinese population drink insanitary water. Water pollution becomes the most major environmental problem in China.

China Ministry of Water Resources appraised 700 rivers of 100,000 kilometers long in the country. Of them, 46.5% was polluted, water quality was grade IV and V; 10.6% was heavily polluted (exceeding the grade V) and 90% urban water was heavily polluted.

In addition, China is one of the countries with the heaviest water and soil erosion in the world, which covers an area of 3.67 million square kilometers, 38% of the total territory...
