During 10-12 October, the Huaihe Valley Water Monitoring and Supervision Center of the Ministry of Water Resources inspected sampled 34 sections of the 25 rivers in the Huaihe river valleys. According to the inspection results, the water quality of 20.6% of the sampled sections meet the the state standard, and the rest are not up to the standard.

In the 23 sections at the provincial boarders regions, 82.6% are in the categories of Grade V or worse. The main polluting elements include permanganate, salt, iron, ammonia, etc. The water quality is getting worse by 26.1% compared the last month...
