Using seawater for soot
desulfuration succeeded in Shanghai

( Abstract )

The scientific research project on using seawater of Hangzhou Bay for soot desulfuration from a thermoelectricity plant passed the appraisal recently. Experts thought that the project has already reached to the international advanced level. Sulfur dioxide emitted by the coal-burning thermoelectricity plant is known as "environment killer." The desulfuration rate of the new technique is more than 95%. Comparing with other ten soot desulfuration methods, it has the lowest investment and operation cost. With characteristics of economical, practical, mature technology and simple operation, and no second time polluting, the new technique is evidently better than other desulfuration techniques.
