WWF has worked in the Qinling mountain range of Shaanxi Province since 2001 to support conservation of the region's forests and the giant pandas that depend on them. The WWF Qinling Project seeks to secure the recovery and long-term health of forests and pandas, while helping improve the lives of people in this culturally unique but economically underdeveloped area. WWF China is looking for a talented and motivated conservationist to help us take forward this exciting and innovative conservation programme.

Job position:Qinling Project Communication Coordinator
Location: WWF Xi’anField Office
Report to: QinlingProject Leader
Functions /responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing Qinling communication plan with guidance of Yangtze Team communication coordinator
  • Supporting the achievements of overall Yangtze communication strategy
  • Maintaining WWF brand at local level and among WWF's partners in Shaanxi
  • Effectively communicating out the achievements of conservation targets and milestones in Qinling
  • Establishing and maintaining the public and media relationship at the local level
  • Managing the information related to Qinling conservation such as collection of video, photos, documentations, writing articles etc
  • Maintaining Qinling project database and connecting with WWF CPO database and Intranet
  • Facilitating regular internal team communication
  • Building up the information flow between field and related donors, e.g. an electronic Qinling Conservation Briefing both in Chinese and English
  • Communicating with WWF China Programme communication staff
  • Managing the relationship with other local NGOs and volunteers
  • Fulfilling other related project works required by the Qinling Team

Qualification :

  • At least three-year work experience in communication or promotion of media or business companies
  • Understanding biodiversity conservation and sustainable development concepts
  • Familiar with advanced communication technology
  • Master degree or relevant education background
  • Good English writing, reading and speaking
  • Excellent Chinese writing skills
  • Dynamic, creative and outgoing personality and commitment to nature conservation
