IED/LEAD-China Program Assistant

Recruitment and Terms of Appointment

Recruitment for the position of IED/LEAD-China Program Assistant shall be carried out in a transparent, open manner, encouraging applications from the widest possible sources.

The governing body of IED/LEAD-China shall act as the employer of the Program Assistant, in accordance with the Chinese laws and regulations of employment. The appointment shall be for a specified term (normally one year), renewable after a performance evaluation carried out by the governing body of IED/LEAD-China.

Job description

The Program Assistant will be involved in the activities of all training projects IED/LEAD-China is to implement. His/Her main responsibilities are:

  • Assist project team leaders in planning, organizing and implementing the training projects;
  • Make logistic arrangement for training and other project activities;
  • Prepare and file the work documents, progress reports and final implementation reports to donors under guide of project team leaders;
  • Communicate and touch base with IED/LEAD-China Board, core faculties and fellows/associates of LEAD-China program and also LEAD International regularly, and facilitate and meet the requirements of the daily operation; and
  • Cooperate with staff of IED/LEAD-China and external sources.

Experience

  • Experiences in program assistance or secretary are required, and experiences in the field of environment and development or NGO work are preferred.
  • Adequate English ability in reading, speaking and writing; adequate Chinese writing skills; and adequate other communication skills.
  • Ability to use relevant computer communication packages and tools (including office, PowerPoint, excel, email, Internet, etc.)
  • Knowledge of national environment and development issues is essential and some international exposure is desirable.
  • A good network of local and international partners in the field of environment and development is preferred but optional.

Qualifications

Education: a university degree or equivalent in a relevant fields.

Work experiences: Three years of work experience are required, and richer experiences are preferable.

English: Adequate English ability in writing, speaking and reading

Communication skills, team spirits and coordination ability are required.
