World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) is the largest independent non-government conservation organization in the world. WWF operates in 96 countries/regions with over 6,000 professionals worldwide. WWF provides financial and technical assistance to governments, NGOs, the academic community and local communities for activities that protect eco-systems, biodiversity, and sustainable use of natural resources and energy. In China, WWF works in the fields of climate change, sustainable energy, wetlands conservation, forestry, protected areas management, species conservation, environmental education and eco-region management. Terms of Reference Position: Climate and Energy Programme Associate, WWF-China Location: China Programme Office, Beijing Reports to: WWF Climate and Energy Programme Officer Function: Major Duties and Responsibilities: The candidate is expected to provide technical and management support, which includes logistical support for the programme officer and programme activities, and assist in preparation of reports to donors, and draft of project proposals. Communication is the major focus of the responsibilities. The work is particularly related to the following areas: Supervisor:Climate and Energy Programme Officer Working Relationships: 1.Internal: regular contacts with, and report to, China Climate and Energy Programme officer, and contacts with other CPO Programme and administrative staff; 2.External: regular interaction with project partners, e.g., governmental agencies, Beijing Energy Efficiency Center (BECon), Center for Renewable Energy Development (CRED), Qsinghua University, key environmental NGOs; the mass media and WWF International Climate Change Campaign.
