The UN has declared 2005-2014 as the Decade of Education for Sustainable Development.

It is in this context that Centre for Environment Education is organizing an International Conference "Education for a Sustainable Future" during 18-20 January 2005, in partnership with the Ministry of Environment and Forests and Ministry of human Resource Development, Government of India, UNESCO and UNEP.

Coming as it does at the beginning of the Decade, we see this as playing a key role in starting
