Economic development in disorder threatens ecological environment

( Abstract )

In Guizhou Province annual precipitation is 1,200 millimeters and water average per capita is 3,530 cubic meters. So we can say there is more water in Southern China, especially in Guizhou Province. Guizhou Province is rich in coal, hydroelectric resources and mineral resources. This place richly endowed by nature provides good conditions for development of industry, especially industry of high consumption energy. Local government develops heavy industry at the expense of ecological environment. Hongfeng and Baihua Lakes, regarded as a "Pearl in Plateau", have become sewage pool. The industrial enterprises and residents around lakes are pouring water polluted into it so as to make the people living near by no fresh water to drink...
