SEPA starts the ecological survey in western China to provide theories and guide lines for the Great Western Development.

SEPA official say that the geological survey is important to the realization of sustainable development in western China. The main goals of this survey will include analysis of ecological environment in western China based on satellite data; understanding the trend of changes in the ecology of western China; building a western China ecology data base; and providing scientific basis for the Great Western Development.
