In controlling coal-burning pollution, Coal Mining Research Institute is promoting clean coal production technology. A great success is achieved in clean coal production, liquefying coal and coal water processing. It also gets a good result in the economic channel and comprehensive profit appraisal on the rational technology of reducing the drainage of sulfur dioxide. That has already reached the advanced international level and greatly solved the problem of and controlled the coal-burning pollution.

Sun Fuling, vice chairman of CPPCC, and 14 members of CPPCC Population, Resources and Environment Committee made a special visit to the institute for understanding and highly appraised it.

At present, China has established 8 water-coal plants and workshops with the biggest annual output of 450,000 tons (three production lines). That forms an annual production capacity of 1.5 million tons. Of them is Bayi Water-Coal Plant which was designed, installed and built by Chinese.
