The "Fengyun No.1" meteorological satellite was put into use. It was designed and made by experts of China and carried into orbit by rocket "Changzheng No.4" at Taiyuan Satellite Center at 10th,May 1999. The launch was very successful. Three month's test showed the satellite was qualified for it's task, the technology was advanced. The satellite will be used for weather forecast, disaster forecast, land and sea supervision and environment monitoring and so on.
