An Invention of A Robot for Collecting Rubbish

( Abstract )

Japanese Telecommunication University has invented a new robot whose function is to collect rubbish in office buildings. The system of the robot consists three main parts: a self-discipline robot, a lift with the function of telecommunication and a storage place for rubbish. The robot is 96 cm in length, 58 cm in width an 98 cm in height. It is shaped into a dustbin, which can contain upto 20kg rubbish at once. With a building's map saved in computer, it can walk ahead according the bar codes on the walls. Every time it arrives at the door of an office, it will say " Collect Rubbish". After the staff put the rubbish into it, the robot goes downstairs automatically and tips the rubbish at the storage place. Now the researchers plan to improve the system to be more practical.
