Measuring Gravity in the Arctic

( Abstract )

The Arctic Scientific Investigation Group conducted a gravity measurement on August 5th. According to Zhangraigang, director of the measurement, the landed on a large chosen floating ice at 2 o'clock (9:00 Beijing Time) on the morning. The absolute gravity meter should be in the state of vacuum before the measurement. It was not easy to achieve this. As he came to the measurement spot, he connected the devices together. After several tries, the devices worked well. The time was 9:14:30, August 5th, and the speed of the ice movement was 3 mm per second.
