It is now a critical time for summer sowing. Facing serious drought, the provinces at the downstream of the Yellow River sent appealing telegram to the Yellow River Water Resource Committee for water allocation. Approved by the Ministry of Water Resources, the Xiaolangdi Reservoir Management decided on May 25 to stop generating electricity in order to flush water into the lower reaches of the river to fight the severe drought in the region. The Xiaolangdi Reservoir is the largest water control project on the Yellow River, which is still under construction.
