After bringing Bahamas a great loss, the Freud hurricane marched northward into every state along the East Coast of America, and landed on North Carolina on Thursday morning. Although the hurricane was weaker after landing, it destroyed a lot of trees and many areas were inundated. Up to now five victims (one in Bahamas, four in America) were killed in the disaster. It is unprecedented that 2.5 million residents along American East Coast were evacuated from afflicted areas. President Clinton made announcement that Florida, Georgia, North and South Carolina are severely afflicted areas and 2.5 million people fled for their life. Other northern areas such as Maryland, New Jersey and New York proclaimed a state of emergency.
