Facing the most serious locust disaster problem, Ministry of Agriculture has developed the prevention and control plan and called a onsite conference. Ministry of Finance has allocated RMB5 million to different affected areas, matched by the local funds of more than RMB30 million. 10 airplanes, 1500 tons of pesticides and spraying equipment have been mobilized to prevent the locusts from "flying off, spreading out, or forming disasters." By July 5, the first "battle" will be accomplished, but the prevention efforts are still needed in fall to entirely control the disasters.
