Statistics show that Eastern Asian Locust attacked 933,333 hectares of land in Shandong, Henan, Hebei, Anhui, Shanxi and Shaanxi provinces and Tianjin. In the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Italian locusts attacked 2 million hectares of land and Asian locusts attacked 33,333 hectares of land. In some area of Henan province, the density of Eastern Asian locusts was 1,000 to 4,000 per square meter. The large coverage of locust disaster made it difficult for controlling and fighting against the disaster.

At present, 1,000 tons of pesticide, 20,000 sets of machines to spray pesticide, ten planes and 10,000 trained personnels are ready for fighting against the pests.
