Severe drought occurred in Jiangxi Province. Over 533,333 hectares of crops suffers from drought, 53,333 hectares were lost harvest entirely. Over a million people and 570,000 livestock have no water to drink.

In the province, three million men were organized to fight against the drought. Thousands of vehicles and machines worked to drill 310,000 wells and build 12,800 pump stations. The anti-drought investment totals RMB70 million.
