Though it rained many times in Shandong province, the drought in Jiaodong Peninsula still worsened. Officials say that the rainfall in Yantai and Weihai are 247 millimeters and 334 millimeters less than last year.

On a tight budget, Yantai only has enough water supply for 2 more months. Weihai only has water supply untill the end of August.

Jiaodong Peninsula has been on a water saving plan for a long time. But the result is not satisfactory. Hopefully, the South to North Water Transfer Project will bring some relief to the water shortage of Jiaodong Peninsula in the future...
