Chinese Scientists found rare
strong inversion layer in the Arctic

( Abstract )

Scientists in China's first Arctic Scientific Research Group said on August 8th that they found a rare strong inversion layer in the low air of theArctic¡£Qu Shaohu, who was in charge of the survey said that the strong inversion layer was found by a mooring boat in a floating ice. He said that the inversion layer, which began from the ice surface£¬would change 1 degree every ten meters. The ceiling of the layer is around 180 meters. He also said that the existence of inversion layers would block the delivery of heat and momentum to the ice surface. After heat and momentum accumulate to a certain stage, the inversion will be broken, bring gales with large heat to the ice surface and prompt the melting of the ocean ices.
