After doing effort during the 9th five-year plan, the environment in many cities has improved and ecological construction is strengthened.

In the next 5 years, the goal of environmental protection in China will decrease the emission of SO2, soot, COD, industrial powder dust and industrial solid waste by 10%; control the heavy metal, cyanide and petroleum in industrial wastewater; safely dispose hazardous materials.
